Rice Harvesting Experience at The Quiet Place Farm Resort

Learning how rice is cultivated and the process of farming until it ends up on your plate.

The Quiet Place Farm Resort is part of a fully functioning agricultural estate in Bago City, an area planted mostly to rice in the largely sugar producing province of Negros Occidental. Just a 25 minute drive from the center of Bacolod City.

Starts off with a brief lecture by Mang Metong on how rice is cultivated with coordinator Betsy Gazo.

Short trot to the rice fields.

Rice looks golden when when ready for harvest.

Mang Metong show the way to use the garab(scythe).

We are harvesting rice!

Tools of the trade. The garab and the saklit.

Harvest is done and all bundled up!

Refreshing cold towels greets us at the pavilion.

And yummy breakfast too!.

Not a morsel left after learning rice farming and experiencing all the hard work put into each spoonful of rice. A clean plate on every meal is now a must for me!
